If there's one thing I have a love/hate relationship with, it's dress shopping. There are ENDLESS options for girls with a smaller dress size. In my experience, if your a size 16 or above, you are basically screwed. You have a very slim chance of actually finding a dress in a store that fits properly. If you're anywhere near what could be considered "plus" sizes, your options immediately decrease by a large margin.

There have been times where I've been dress shopping, whethe ... r it was for homecoming or junior prom, where I've been so ready to cry and give up because I feel like I'm fat because none of the dresses I tried on that day fit. Even when I have found dresses, they never fit properly. They fit around the waist, but the top is always much too big.

I wear between a 20-24 size dress. I know I am on the overweight side, but why do clothes get labeled as "plus"? I understand its a bigger size, but why draw attention to that? I was on a website earlier today that actually said "normal sizes" and "plus sizes". What defines those sizes as normal? As a plus size person, honestly I feel like I don't even want to go shopping with some of my friends that are smaller sizes because I mostly sit there thinking how I can't fit in any clothes in some of the stores to go to. tight homecoming dresses 2019

Part of what frustrates me is some company's only make up to size 14. Online, JCPenny only sells eight plus size dresses for juniors. Eight. There are ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX options if your not in the "plus" range. There are so many beautiful dresses, but none that fit.

Prom season, one of the most fun times, but at the same time one of the most stressful and frustrating.
